The lifespan on FilmxPros matte and gloss is approximate 10-13 years depending on the use of the film.
The film itself contains no sort of harsh chemicals that might be a danger to consumers. The film is made from 100% TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane), a class of polyurethane plastics with many properties, including elasticity, transparency, and resistance to oil, grease, and abrasion.
FilmxPro can be applied on Granite, Marble, Limestone, Travertine, Slate, Quartzite, Sandstone, Adoquin, Onyx, and others. The film does not affect the stone or change it's appearance other than enhancing the natural beauty.
Matte film offers more of a natural, warm and cozy atmosphere. This finish results in a non-reflective appearance creating a less slippery finish, making it great for high-traffic areas as the film hides as lot of the stone imperfections.
Polished film offers a modern, glossy and luxurious appearance. This finish has a highly reflective surface, which will display the vibrancy of the stone's colours as well as the “character” of the stone.
There are no harsh chemicals being used in the procedure causing no harm to the stone and anyone around it.
The film has an approximate temperature of 250F*/120C*. We recommend homeowners to place a heat pad or drying pad to prevent the film from being damaged.
By the end of the film cycle (10-13 years) the film will have some tear and use as a normal countertop would be used. Warranty will last 7 years covering any sort of bubbling, and yellowing from the protected surface. However, it does not cover intentional or unintentional scratching or peeling.
We usually recommend to clean your covered surface with warm water mixed with dish soap, glass cleaners (Windex) are all very effective leaving a clean glossy finish. However, it's crucial to use a neutral-PH cleaner that doesn't contain harsh chemicals or abrasives.
